Pastor Brad Qualls     Co-Pastor Jonelle Hammack

June 2018

Pastor Brad recently preached a message entitled “Against All Odds”. He used Romans 4:18-23 to show how Abraham’s hope grew against all odds! Look at what this says in The Voice…”Against the odds, Abraham’s hope grew into full-fledged faith that he would turn out to be the father of many nations, just as God had promised when He said, ’That’s how many your descendants will be.’

His faith did not fail, although he was well aware that his impotent body, after nearly 100 years, was as good as dead and that Sarah’s womb, too, was dead.

In spite of all this, his faith in God’s promise did not falter. In fact, his faith grew as he gave glory to God

Because he was supremely confident that God could deliver on His promise.

This is why, you see, God saw His faith and counted him as righteous; this is how he became right with God.”

Pastor Brad said that we all need to get out of our minds! Isn’t this what Solomon was saying in Proverbs 3:5 & 6  (The Voice)   “Place your trust in God; rely on Him completely; never depend upon your own ideas and inventions. Give Him the credit for everything you accomplish, and He will smooth out and straighten the road that lies ahead.”

This is how and why Abraham’s faith grew stronger as he gave glory to God!  He was supremely, confident in God’s promises! He did NOT believe that the odds were against him. How many times have we given in to this feeling? We need to be like Abraham and be Supremely  Confident that our God can deliver what He has promised!

Next, the Pastor went to Romans 5:1-5 and showed us how Jesus leads us into a place of Radical Grace! This is our reason to CELEBRATE!

Since we have been acquitted and made right through faith, we are able to experience true and lasting peace with God through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, the Liberating King.

Jesus leads us into a place of radical grace where we are able to celebrate the hope of experiencing God’s glory.

And that’s not all. We also celebrate in seasons of suffering because we know that when we suffer we develop endurance,

Which shapes our characters. When our characters are refined, we learn what it means to hope and anticipate God’s goodness.

And hope will never fail to satisfy our deepest need because the Holy Spirit that was given to us has flooded our hearts with God’s love.”

Pastor Brad stated that our paths are Chartered by God! Using Psalm 1:1-3 (The Voice) as his reference….

God’s blessings follow you and await you at every turn: when you don’t follow the advice of those who delight in wicked schemes, When you avoid sin’s highway, when judgment and sarcasm beckon you, but you refuse.

For you, God’s Word is your happiness. It is your focus – from dusk to dawn.

You are like a tree, planted by flowing, cool streams of water that never run dry. Your fruit ripens in its time; your leaves never fade or curls in the summer sun. No matter what you do, you prosper.”

Study these scriptures and let them minister to you and you will find that you can make it…..AGAINST ALL ODDS because God is for you!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads this month. And special congratulations to all the school graduates….We are so proud of you!
